Pastor Rick Warren announced publicly announced his disapproval of the Ugandan law that allows people of Uganda to be sentenced to death for being gay. He felt that he had to go to the media so that people would know that he was not involved in the passing of the bill at all because he feels that it is unjust and unchristian.
I agree with pastor Warren because I don't feel that people should be executed for their sexual preference. That is their choice and that choice shouldn't be able to be taken away from them based on someone else's opinion. People are just too cruel to people or things that they don't understand and I believe that is wrong because everyone is equal and everyone deserves to be able to live their life the way they want.
You are right the Rick Warren did make this statement, but only after being pressured by LGBT interest groups who have been lobbying people to speak out against this extremely hateful abuse of human rights in Uganda.
ReplyDeletePastor Warren, unfortunately, has been supportive of groups and organizations in Uganda along with many other American legislators who are anti-gay and also advocate against the use of condoms to fight AIDS, and other extreme positions.
Mr. Warren is kind of just protecting himself from this, since basically even the most extreme people in the US can recognize it isn't right to execute gay people. He is by no means, an advocate for equal rights for gay Americans.
