Regulating Interstate Commerce (the BCS!)

This article talks about one of Congress's powers it gets through one of the loopholes in the Constitution: the power to regulate interstate commerce.

Although powers not listed in the Constitution are supposed to be reserved for the states, Congress and the federal government get around by the clause that gives them the right to regulate interstate commerce.

Anything that crosses state lines or involves multiple states can be regulated by Congress.

This article, by conservative columnist George Will, talks about how a Republican Congressman and many others including President Obama, want Congress to get involved in NCAA football through the interstate commerce clause. They want the BCS system to be replaced because it is unfair to smaller schools who don't get to profit like the traditional power houses of football.
