Radaronline.com has obtained what it says are sexual text messages that Tiger Woods sent to one of his alleged mistresses, cocktail waitress and former reality show contestant Jaimee Grubbs. The racy messages leave no doubt as to what the sender is thinking about:
"I will wear you out...when was the last time you got (bleeped)?" one message read.
Another one from Tiger read, "Send me something very naughty...Go to the bathroom and take (a picture)."Is that legal?
First, remember this is a political blog and the Tiger story is close to being just celebrity gossip, but because of your question about privacy I will allow this.
ReplyDeleteAre you asking if it is legal for Tiger to send sexually-charged text messages? If so, yes that is allowed unless he was harassing the person on the other end of the text, but this does not seem to be the case.
If you are asking if it is legal to make the text messages public, that is a more interesting question. Did Tiger have a reasonable expectation of privacy when sending a text message? Who was it that released the text message to the media? Was it the woman or someone other than the woman? How did that person get access to the text message?
All these are important questions, but in the information age and with other cases like it, Tiger should not have thought he had a reasonable expectation of privacy in this case in my opinion.
