-afater senator ted kennedy's passing,there needs to be someone to fiil his place.democrats are pushing for their candidate martha coakly to get the spot.president obama will be going to massachussettes to represent her.ted kennedy had alot of influence and the democrats need this spot,but republicans are after it as well.if republican,however earns the spot,they can run a sucessful filibuster against the democratic health care bill.
